Covenant House New Jersey is Hiring a Resident Advisor (FT) Near Montclair, NJ
- Monitor residents during sleeping hours to ensure their safety.
- Monitors the building with a focus on resident safety.
- Participates in case management staff meetings and attends required training.
- Accurately and comprehensively documents case records with information regarding interactions and case plan updates
- Participates in crisis management
- Supervises youth as they self-administer prescribed or over the counter medication.
- Monitors resident activities within the building to ensure a safe and healthy living environment
- Performs tasks needed in maintaining a clean work environment
- Works with individual residents and escorts them to activities as needed
- Manages and administers shift petty cash
- Assists as needed with fundraising affairs and special events which may be conducted outside the employee’s normal work schedule.
- Expected to be involved in food preparation steps to ensure residents receive 3 meals a day.
- Required to assist residents and agency with food shopping for individual and site needs.
- Required to check company e-mail daily.
- All other duties assigned by management staff
- A bachelor’s degree in social work, human service or related field preferred
- Experience working with clients with mental health diagnoses,
- Excellent assessment and judgment capacities
- Valid New Jersey drivers’ license with an insurable driving record
